A Student Resources Fair and Open House has been set for Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 am to 2 pm in the Frith Exhibit Hall. Students will learn about campus clubs, financial planning, checking and savings accounts, healthcare, mentoring, employment opportunities, daycare, transportation, housing, insurance benefits, financial assistance, counseling, and many local community partners. (This event is not open to the public.)
It’s spooky and it’s kooky and it’s going very fast. Shows are already being sold out for the Patriot Player’s production of the Addams Family.
This year, Halloween is a family affair. Performances of the Addams Family will be held on the last two weekends of October. On October 22-24 and 30-31 see the show at 7:00 pm. On October 25 catch the show at 2:00 pm.
On October 1, Dr. Angeline Godwin the president of Patrick Henry Community College, was named as a member of the Council on Youth Entrepreneurship. Governor McAuliffe established the council last month through Executive Order 47 in order to establish business innovation initiatives for youth.
For the third consecutive time, PHCC has received its certification as an Achieving the Dream (ATD) Leader College.
PHCC invites anyone from 6 years old and up to create a sculpture entirely from recycled materials to enter the third annual Recycled Art Sculpture Contest.
This summer a group of six faculty and staff from Patrick Henry Community College participated in a professional development workshop on mindfulness, a technique that one professor hopes will be a revolution in learning, retention, and overall campus wellness at PHCC.
