Overview
Odyssey USA is the University of South Alabama's Institute for Learning in Retirement. It is a community of learners with inquisitive minds and a love of learning. Members come from a variety of backgrounds to learn together and enrich their time together. They design their own curriculum based on their own interests and intellectual curiosity.

Most Friday afternoons in the Humanities Building, you will see more than 125 Odyssey members participating in a variety of classes. Classes are challenging and thought-provoking with mind stretching activities covering a broad range of topics. Instructors are community experts, University faculty, and fellow Odyssey members. There are no tests, no grades, no homework.

To enhance the camaraderie among members, Odyssey also sponsors monthly luncheon lectures and special field trips. Luncheon lectures generally focus on issues and happenings in the community. Field trips are usually organized in conjunction with class offerings.

If you would like to experience Odyssey USA before joining, please contact our office and we will arrange for you to attend our classes or luncheons on a trial basis. Each September, Odyssey sponsors its annual membership drive "Taste of Odyssey." At this event you will have the opportunity to meet our members and "taste" our classes.
