Shared decision making through P-14 partnerships is woven throughout the educational programs in the College of Education. Working with the Dean's Advisory Council and departmental advisory committees, College programs and policies are firmly grounded in both theory and practice.
From the initial clinical field experiences of candidates in undergraduate educator preparation programs through advanced doctoral research, P-14 partnerships provide a steady reference for the needs of today's educational, governmental, community agency, and business institutions.
The hallmark of these partnerships is that all participating organizations benefit from their collaboration in realizing a shared vision for improving our communities. The College benefits as our partners provide the living laboratory essential for our professional and certification programs. Cooperating institutions share the resources of the College such as the Noyce Pathway to Science
, Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI)
, the South Alabama Research and Inservice Center (SARIC)
and Project CRUISE
to further student achievement, to mentor and induct new professionals, and to provide strategic and sustained support. And we all benefit from the realization of a collective vision that enhances the community in which we all live and work.
