MOBILE [PRESS] REGISTER
During the height of the Great Depression, Mobile had several local newspapers. The Mobile Register became the morning paper and the Mobile Press the afternoon. The News-Item ceased to exist. Some years later, delivery of the afternoon paper stopped and the daily became known as the Mobile Press Register. (See also Photograph Collections under Mobile Press-Register.)
