The Department of Health and Human Services has funded a $1.2 million proposal to provide a new BSN to DNP Accelerated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AACNP) with Emergency Specialization program.
Graduates of this program will earn a DNP degree and be eligible to sit for dual certification exams - the FNP and the AACNP exams.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing has set a 2015 date for full implementation of the DNP as the entry level for advanced practice.
