The USA parking system is divided into zones. The zoned parking is in effect Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. during fall and spring semesters. Zoned parking is not in effect during the summer semester. A valid USA parking permit must be displayed, unobstructed from the rearview mirror, at all times while a vehicle is parked on campus.
The South zone (purple) is comprised of University Commons, Mitchell College of Business, Performing Arts building, Administration building, Computer Information Systems building, Shelby Hall, and the Health & Physical Education building.Resident zone parking permits allow students to park in the residence hall lots (except the Gamma lot), The Grove, Mitchell Center lot (South lot only), University Commons (UCOM), and Technology and Research Park III during the enforcement of zoned parking (M-F 7:00 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.).
Gamma zone permits allow Gamma residents to park on east Stadium Drive and in the Gamma lot.The Mitchell Center parking lot is available with any current valid parking permit except when events are scheduled in the Mitchell Center. This lot is subject to close at any time without notice. Blue spaces along Mitchell Center Drive, near the track, is designated Faculty Staff parking only.
The Meisler Hall lot is comprised of 30-minute parking spaces and visitor spaces. Students may use the 30-minute spaces to conduct business at Meisler Hall. These spaces should not be used by employees or students during their classes or work day. Visitor spaces are to be used by non-affiliates of the university who are visiting campus. Students and employees may not use these spaces.Students living off-campus will choose a zone to park for the entire academic year (fall-summer semesters). They should choose a zone most convenient to their classes and activities taking place before 1:45 p.m.
All on-campus resident students, including sorority, fraternity, and Grove residents, must obtain a Resident zone parking permit with the exception of Gamma residents who must obtain a Gamma permit. Obtaining a permit other than the allowed permit will result in disciplinary action and possible vehicle immobilization.
