Assistant Professor (Public Administration)
The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in public administration to begin August 15, 2014. USA is the only major public university on the upper Gulf Coast and is committed to partnership with the communities it serves. Mobile, within 100 mile radius of which the population is more than one million, is the oldest city in Alabama and diverse in culture.
Applicants must have teaching and research interests in the area of healthcare policy/administration. Applicants must also be able to teach graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: budgeting/public finance, organizational theory and behavior, and personnel management. The Department offers undergraduate degrees in political science and criminal justice and the MPA. Commitment to new instructional technologies (online and blended courses), sponsored and published research, and engagement with the community is expected of applicants. An earned Ph.D. in political science, public administration, or public policy is required. ABDs near the completion of the degree will also be considered.
