The annual WAC workshop, which is open for all faculty, will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, in room 181 of the University Library. This workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be served.
Frank Ard, Manager of the University Writing Center, will conduct this session. Once again, we will use John C. Bean’s Engaging Ideas: The Professor’s Guide to Integrating Writing, Critical Thinking, and Active Learning in the Classroom as our primary text. Copies will be made available to participants. Part I of the seminar will be “Theory into Practice”. We hope to offer practical information on incorporating writing and critical thinking skills into your classes, along with tips on evaluation, revision, construction of writing assignments, and handing the paper load. Part II will include presentations by the USA Writing Center and USA Library.
Applications are available through the WAC web site, or from the University Writing Center through the campus mail (AHE 202).
