Other Initiatives

The Office of the Provost provides leadership and support to a wide variety of projects at the University of Kentucky.  Initiatives currently underway include:

International Task Force

This task force is charged with reviewing UK's policies, processes, and risk coverage for all forms of international travel by the UK community.  The task force will review and provide recommendations on a wide variety of topics, such as the risk plans and insurance coverage for all forms of international travel by faculty, staff, and students, the current policies and procedures surrounding international travel at UK, and the benefits available to employees traveling abroad.  This task force is comprised of the following individuals:

Enrollment Growth for Undergraduate Education Working Group

This working group is tasked with reviewing the many areas related to the enrollment and admissions process, with an emphasis on "growth with quality" and continuous improvement.   The group is reviewing the various activities that are currently being done at UK and is determining which activities UK needs to add or change to promote growth in undergraduate enrollment.   Members of this group include:

  • Vince Kellen, Senior Vice Provost for Academic Planning, Analytics, and Technologies

Committee of Graduate Scholarship Awards, Stipends and Fellowships

This committee is responsible for reviewing the process by which graduate tuition awards are allocated to ensure that it supports UK's dedication to excellence in graduate education. The group will review current Graduate School processes, seek input from various stakeholders, consider the pros and cons of process changes, and determine how recommended changes might be managed within the framework of UK's new budget model.  The committee will deliver its final report in May 2014.  Membership on this team includes:

Carnegie Foundation Community Engagement Reclassification Committee

This committee is responsible for creating the Carnegie Foundation Community Engagement reclassification report.  The committee will deliver its final report in April 2014.  Members include:
