Goal # 4: Have a Meaningful Impact on the Commonwealth and Community

The Developing Concepts report for this Goal is currently in progress and will be posted as soon as it is complete.

UK must continue to apply its expertise to solve real-world problems within the Commonwealth, contribute to economic prosperity and conduct research that benefits the people of the Commonwealth and beyond. In today’s world, postsecondary education is often linked to the benefits it provides to students and alumni – primarily, employment preparation and opportunities, a higher income, networking, and skill training. The fuller expression of civic engagement in higher education is found in institutions where the commitment to civic engagement is strategic, pervasive and integrated into the core functions of research, teaching and service.
