Xgrid software from Apple, Inc. allows the use of idle Macintosh computers for distributed computing. At the University of Kentucky there are currently 322 machines participating in the Xgrid. These 322 machines have 1,417 processors which, if all are available, give a computing capacity of 3.74 TF.
