Xgrid is not appropriate for all types of HPC jobs. Below is a list of attributes that can help you decide if your job can benefit from Xgrid or not.

Jobs with the following attributes may run well in an Xgrid environment:

• Single threaded jobs that need to be run many times
• Jobs with relatively short execution times ( less than 4 hours)

Jobs with the following attributes will probably NOT run well in an Xgrid environment:

• Jobs which need large data sets as input
• Jobs which generate large output data sets that need to be copied elsewhere after completion
