The emergence of China on the world stage as an economic and industrial superpower is changing the dynamics of how business is done around the world. In parallel, China’s rapid evolution from a manufacturing economy into a consumer economy is creating new opportunities for Western businesses and entrepreneurs. In order to be successful doing business in China, it is critical to understand from a historical perspective how the Middle Kingdom got to where it is today, and to understand from a cultural perspective what it takes to build a successful business strategy in China. Mr. Peter Levesque has been living and working in Asia for the last fourteen years. This discussion will focus on his experience as a Westerner doing business in China. The discussion will highlight the new business opportunities being created there, and what businesses and entrepreneurs need to understand in order be successful in the new Middle Kingdom.
