Shelley Zhang and Other Researchers Awarded Contract to Develop the Generalized Integrated Learning Architecture(GILA). (9/15/2006)
Assistant Professor Shelley Zhang of the Computer and Information Science Department and other researchers from 11 universities and institutes, united by Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories, (ATL), won a $22 million, 48-month contract ($290K for UMass Dartmouth) from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop the Generalized Integrated Learning Architecture (GILA).

Assistant Professor Vinod Vokkarane of the Computer and Information Science Department and his collaborator from the University of Texas at Dallas, Professor Jason Jue, have been awarded a $440,000.
Sheetal Naik and Emad Aboelela published "IDEM- Internet Delay Emulator Approach for Assessing VoIP Quality" in The 2005 Systems Communications Conference, Multimedia Communications Systems, Montreal, Canada, pp. 92-97, August 14-17, 2005.
Haiping Xu, Zhiguo Zhang, and Sol M. Shatz published "A Security Based Model for Mobile Agent Software Systems," in the International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering ( IJSEKE), Auguest 2005, Vol. 15, No. 4, pp. 1-28.
Dr. Boleslaw Mikolajczak presented a paper entitled "Workflow Mining Alpha Algorithm - A Complexity Study" during International Information Processing and Web Mining Conference, June 13-16, 2005 held in Gdansk, Poland and published in Advances in Soft Computing, Springer, 2005.
Dr. Boleslaw Mikolajczak presented a paper entitled "Distributed Actor-based Approach to the Optimal Polygon Triangulation Problem with Visualization Using Colored Petri Nets" during 17th Trieennial Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies IFORS 2005, July 11-15, 2005, Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa, Honolulu, Hawaii, US. The paper will be published in Journal of Control and Cybernetics.
