Shares Massachusetts State Cricket League (MSCL) Division 3 Title

Message from Ameya Lad (Computer Science MS student)
Vice President,UMass Dartmouth Cricket Club

It gives me immense pleasure to announce that the UMass Dartmouth Cricket Club (UDCC) is 2011 co-champion of the Massachusetts State Cricket League (MSCL) Division 3.

The season began on 8th May. After dominating the league stages of the tournament, UDCC beat the Merrimack Valley Cricket Club convincingly by 74 runs in the semi-final game to book a place in the championship match. Inclement weather on 24th September forced the final game to be cancelled. So both finalists, UDCC and the Commonwealth Cricket Club, were declared champions of MSCL Division 3!

UDCC will play in Division 2, beginning with the 2012 season.

On behalf of all the members of UDCC, I would like to sincerely thank all the UMass Dartmouth Student Senate members as well as the faculty members who supported us right through the season and helped us make our dream a reality.

Also, a special thanks to Dr. Satya Parayitam, without whose help and support this achievement would not have been possible.
