Highlights from UFIT: Fiscal Year 2016-2017

Each year, Vice President and CIO Elias Eldayrie presents two publications that share the ways UFIT supports the mission of the University of Florida. The two publications are the “UFIT Highlights” and “Supporting the University of Florida: UFIT Contributions”. The 2016-2017 UFIT Highlights publication is now online.
UFIT Highlights is distinct because its focus is from the perspective of faculty, students, and staff. The tri-fold publication includes quotes from our community members as well as some interesting statistics from UFIT’s external-facing departments. Among the fiscal year 2016-2017 fun facts are:
- 149,250 UF Computing Help Desk contacts (phone calls, walk-in customers, and emails)
- Almost six billion — 5,907,846,215 — malicious emails blocked from the UF Network
- 46,000+ hours of UFIT staff time invested in modernizing UF’s student information systems
