Students Have Many Indoor/Outdoor Collaboration Options

UF students have access to state-of-the-art technology and collaborative learning spaces 24/7.

The newly renovated Newell Hall features movable, tech-friendly furniture, with outlets on nearly every piece. Reitz Union also has more than 20 new conference rooms and study spaces that students can reserve at no charge. Need to create a video for a class or club project? Library West’s One Button Studio is easy to use and also free. Built by UFIT, the One Button Studio is equipped with state-of-the-art camera, lighting, audio, and green screen equipment. All that’s needed to record a video is a flash drive.

“UFIT regularly works with the UF’s Smathers Libraries and the Division of Student Affairs to get the technology students need to collaborate digitally and in person, in more and more places where students need it on campus,” said Mark McCallister, interim director of Academic Technology.

More options: Collaboration Commons, located in Marston Science Library’s (MSL) basement, features a visualization wall, 3-D printing and scanning, and super high-tech study rooms. Click here to see the technologies available and to reserve a room in MSL. For UF’s outdoorsy collaborators, Wi-Fi was also recently expanded in and around the North Lawn and the Plaza of the Americas.

What is this view?

You are using a dynamic assistive view of the University of Florida site. It has all the same data and features of the original site but formatted just with assistive users in mind. It has links and content reorganized to aid assistive users and has controls at the bottom under assistive options that allow you to control key aspects such as font size and contrast colors etc.
This is not a separate text-only site, it's a dynamic view that uses unique technology from Usablenet to give assistive users better, more accessible access to the same content and features as all users that use the graphic view of the site.
