Our mission is to assist and support students in a holistic process of education and preparation to achieve the most competitive application for admission as is possible by the individual student.

We advise all UF students who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.

Walk-in Hours

Please Note: We will NOT have walk-in hours on February 5 or February 16, 2018.

  • M, Tu, Th, F: 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • W: 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

*Walk-in and phone advising are generally for advising questions of 15 minutes or less. If you have numerous or lengthy questions please schedule an appointment. Advisors will make every effort to see all students who sign in. However, we reserve the right to stop accepting walk-in students depending on the number of students already waiting and the amount of time left in the walk-in shift. If you arrive later in the shift you may be instructed to return on a different day.

Second – Fourth Year Students: Call (352) 273-4083 to schedule an appointment. The pre-health assistant is generally available for scheduling appointments from 8:00-11:30 and 1:30-4:00 M, T, Th, and F or 10:00-11:30 and 12:30-5:00 on Wednesdays. We do not make appointments during drop/add and advance registration. You are expected to have your Pre-Health Action Plan at all appointments.

Pre-Health Email

Advisors are available to answer your Pre-Health related questions via email at For general academic advising questions please email an advisor in your college. Students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences may email or use this form. Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.

Pre-Health Listserv

The UF Pre-Health listserv helps keep Pre-Health students informed about upcoming Pre-Health events, presentations, volunteer and research opportunities, student organization meetings, practice MCAT exams, and more. Join the listserv!

Please note: All requests for postings to the Pre-Health Listserv will be reviewed by OHLPA. Requests that do not pertain specifically to Pre-Health students, requests that are advertisements for purchased products, and alcohol-related events may not be posted. To submit a request, please send it to Student organizations that travel abroad must adhere to, and post on their website, the AAMC and ADEA guidelines in order to have their information distributed to the listserv. Announcements will not be posted more than once per week.
