How to Avoid SafeConnect Issues

We are enforcing all policies on our SafeConnect system on DHNet Internet Services. This will mean that any residents who are not compliant with the following policies will have their Internet connection blocked until they are resolved.

Policies for Windows Computers

  • SafeConnect Policy Key Installed and Running
  • P2P Software not running
  • iTunes Sharing Disabled
  • Antivirus and Antimalware installed, updated, and running (We recommend Avast! Free Antivirus for Windows)
  • Windows Update set to automatically update
  • If Adobe Flash is installed, updated to the latest version and all older versions removed
  • If Java is installed, updated to the latest version and all older versions removed
  • If Adobe Reader is installed, updated to the latest version and all older versions removed

Policies for Mac Computers

  • SafeConnect Policy Key Installed and Running
  • P2P Software not running
  • iTunes Sharing Disabled
  • Antivirus and Antimalware installed, updated, and running (We recommend Avast! Free Antivirus for Mac)
  • Software Update set to automatically download updates on daily basis
  • If Adobe Flash is installed, updated to the latest version and all older versions removed
  • If Adobe Reader is installed, updated to the latest version and all older versions removed

If you want to avoid having your connection being interrupted, please make sure you update all the software listed above. Additionally, we have created tutorials for complying with the SafeConnect Policies.

What is this view?

You are using a dynamic assistive view of the University of Florida site. It has all the same data and features of the original site but formatted just with assistive users in mind.
