Dr. Moritz is Associate Professor of Music and teaches applied piano, class piano and intro to music. Moritz is an active pianist and scholar who has received critical acclaim for performances abroad as well as throughout the United States.
He has performed solo and chamber recitals at the Chicago Cultural Center, the Istanbul Philharmonic Chamber Series and the Mersin State Opera House, the Palacio de Comunicaciones in La Paz, New York University, and many more. Moritz has been featured on Wisconsin Public Radio in its "Live from the Elvehjem" series and on Michigan Public Radio as part of the Blue Lake Summer Arts Festival.
He has also performed in music festivals in Italy and Cyprus and has given solo recitals in South America and throughout the U.S. Moritz's scholarly work has centered on the music of Friedrich Nietzsche and is on the board of advisors for the Nietzsche Circle. Dr. Moritz has presented talks and lecture recitals on Nietzsche's music for the American Society for Aesthetics and at New York University, among other venues. Dr. Moritz also directs the Mansfield University Honors Program, and serves as the university's First-Year Experience Coordinator.
