Mansfield offers five undergraduate, four graduate degrees, and one minor degree in music with a wide variety of majors to fit students' needs and help them reach their musical and professional goals. See below for more details about our programs, and feel free to contact individual professors if you have further questions.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

Music
A great degree for talented music students who also have interests in other fields. You receive the same great musical instruction, but have more room for coursework outside of music. Music and business, psychology, and leadership are popular.

Bachelor of Music (B.M.)  

Music Education
Mansfield is known throughout the Northeast for its outstanding music education program. Students can pursue vocal, instrumental, or general music education certification and join the ranks of Mansfield alumni teaching in our public schools!
Emphasis in Music Technology
Come utilize Mansfield's state-of-the-art recording studio and prepare yourself for the highly competitive world of music technology.  Study recording, mixing, electronic sound manipulation and more.

Music Performance
Intended for those students planning on pursuing performance careers or graduate study. Study with our great faculty and take advantage of numerous performance opportunities!

Elective Studies in Music Business
Prepare yourself for a career in music and the music industry.  Mansfield offers three separate Music Business tracks, including Business Administration, Marketing, and Management.

Master of Arts (M.A.) in Music

To apply for one of these degree programs, candidates must schedule an audition with the music department and complete a Mansfield University graduate application.

Most prospective graduate students will also want to apply for a graduate assistantship. Graduate Assistantships include an in-state tuition waiver plus a bi-weekly stipend, and provide students with valuable experience within their field. M.A. in Music with the following Tracks

Choral Conducting
Work with Mansfield's excellent choral ensembles and its outstanding choral faculty. The degree program includes work with ensembles, voice lessons, and everything you need to move to the next level as a choral conductor.
Collaborative Piano
An exciting new degree program designed for the professional accompanist or aspiring chamber musician. Study with Mansfield's nationally recognized piano faculty, and study collab. technique and repertoire. Includes ample collaborative performance opportunities.
Instrumental Conducting
Improve your conducting, teaching and administrative skills with Mansfield's graduate instrumental conducting degree. Designed for the returning conductor, the program includes work with ensembles as well as development of instrumental ensemble administration.
Music Education
Study a wide-range of pedagogy principles and improve your classroom skills. Work with our engaging faculty to hone your own musical skills and learn how to better share them with your students.

Minor

Music Technology
The Music Technology minor is intended for students outside the music department that have a strong interest in audio, music recording, and studio production.
