The Master of Arts in Music/Music Education Track provides music educators the opportunity for continued education and professional development in all areas of music education.
During the 1920's, Mansfield University was the first Pennsylvania College to offer a certificate for music supervisors, and since that time MU has continued the long tradition of training exemplary music educators.
The music education program is designed for practicing music educators as well as students in residence. Courses are offered in the evening, on-line and through summer study to allow teachers flexibility in scheduling. The current music education faculty offers varied and extensive experience in all areas. This allows students the opportunity to design a course of study that meets their individual needs.
Mansfield University is looking for graduate students who are dynamic, self-directed, and eager to learn and experience all aspects of a music program. Potential graduate students in music education should have a minimum of two years of teaching experience (some exceptions may be granted depending on the candidate's experience and ability) and possess an undergraduate degree in the field of music from an NASM accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
