The Division of General Neurology has outstanding clinicians and researchers that evaluate and treat:

  • Unexplained neurological symptoms, examination or imaging findings
  • Neurological disorders that affect multiple areas of the nervous system such as cognition or movement

In addition, our General Neurologists have expertise and interest in:

  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Autoimmune and paraneoplastic neurological disorders
  • Neurological complications of cancer and chemotherapy
  • Neurological complications of rheumatological disorders
  • Neurological complications of bariatric surgery
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Sports related neurological injuries
  • Headache disorders
  • Sleep disorders
  • Rehabilitation

The goal of the Division is to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care through collaborations with nursing, social work, rehabilitation specialists, neuropsychologists, and neurological sub-specialists. As part of that comprehensive program, you will first meet with one of our expert neurologists. After a thorough history, examination and review of your medical records, your neurologist will develop an individualized evaluation and treatment plan that may consist of further specialized diagnostic tests or consultations with specialists, depending on your personal needs. After completion, you will again meet with your General Neurologist for updated management recommendations that will be coordinated with your referring provider.

Members of the General Neurology Division also strive to advance research in neurological disorders. Members have strong collaborations with basic researchers studying the immunological basis of multiple sclerosis. Members of the Division are also recognized leaders in Neurorehabilitation with nationally funded research programs, authorship in leading journals and have led clinical trials programs in neurorehabilitation. The Division has an alliance with the Brain Rehabilitation Research Program at the McKnight Brain Institute. The Division also has research collaborations in traumatic brain injury, palliative medicine, sleep disorders and dementia.
