Welcome to Georgia Perimeter College!


We are excited that you have chosen Georgia Perimeter College to start or restart your journey of discovery in higher education. At GPC, you will develop new relationships, interests, and skills. During the first part of your journey, you will be required to participate in an orientation to the GPC college experience- either on campus or online. If you haven't received an official letter of acceptance, please click here to check your admissions status with the Office of Enrollment and Registration Services (ERS) before proceeding further.

Which Student Orientation should I attend at Georgia Perimeter College?

Select the following student type that best describes you.
  • If you are a Newly Admitted Student and:
    • You have NOT completed placement testing, please contact a GPC campus Testing Center to arrange for COMPASS Placement testing.
    • You have completed placement testing, you are ready to attend New Student Orientation. Please proceed to the Student Signup to register for the New Student Orientation session at any GPC location if you plan to take any of your courses on campus.
  • If you are a GPC Online Student (You plan to take all of your classes online.), please go to Online Orientation and complete the new student orientation designed for online students.
  • You may also visit us online for program information at GPC Online.
  • If you are a Transfer Student, (You received transfer credit for 30 or more college level credits.), you may complete orientation online or attend a campus New Student Orientation.
    • If you plan to attend a campus New Student Orientation please proceed to the Student Signup to register for an orientation session at any GPC location.
    • If you plan to complete orientation online, go to Online Orientation.
  • If you are a Former Student and:
    • You have NOT been away from GPC for three consecutive semesters, you are ready to attend a campus orientation. Please proceed to the Student Signup to register for an orientation session at any GPC location.
    • You have been away from GPC for three consecutive semesters, you need to reapply to GPC.
    • You have been away from GPC for three consecutive semesters, you will need to take the COMPASS Placement test again if:
      • Your GPC COMPASS Placement test scores are over three years old, and
      • You have not taken the COMPASS Placement test at another University System of Georgia institution within the last three years, and
      • You have not earned credits for college level English and/or college level Mathematics.
      • If you need to take the COMPASS Placement test based on the above criteria:
  • If you are a Dual Enrollment Student (You are a high school student taking GPC college courses.), please contact the Dual Enrollment Coordinator at your GPC campus.
  • If you are a Transient Student (You are a student enrolled at another college, but are taking classes at GPC.), you are not required to attend orientation. To learn valuable information about attending Georgia Perimeter College, please see our Online Orientation.
  • If you are a Special Student (You are a student who has earned a Bachelor's or Masters Degree and is taking classes at GPC.), you are not required to attend orientation. To learn valuable information about attending Georgia Perimeter College, please see our Online Orientation.
  • If you are an "Explore GPC" Student (You are taking classes for personal enrichment.), you are not required to attend orientation. To learn valuable information about attending Georgia Perimeter College, please see our

  • If you are a "Prime Timers" Student (You are 62 years of age or older.), you are not required to attend orientation. To learn valuable information about attending Georgia Perimeter College, please see our

If you need to take the COMPASS Placement test ( review testing criteria here):

  • If you are near one of the GPC campuses, please contact a GPC campus Testing Center to arrange for COMPASS Placement testing.
  • If you are out-of-state or a distance from any of the GPC campuses, call College Testing Services (678-891-3585) to schedule a remote COMPASS Placement testing session.
  • Sample questions and descriptions of the tests (Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and ESL) may be found at http://www.act.org/compass.

Please note: Space at New Student Orientation sessions is limited, so register today.

You should plan on spending 3 to 4 hours in the orientation and registration sessions.

If the dates for orientations conflict with your schedule, you may attend an orientation session on any of our campuses.

If you are unable to attend New Student Orientation due to a medical condition or being out of the country, please call the director of the Advising and Counseling Center on your campus. See telephone numbers below. If you are granted an exemption, you must complete your orientation online.
