The Mansfield University Council of Trustees is dedicated to the oversight, advocacy, accountability, and support of the university and its strategic goals as a liberal arts based institution committed to promoting leadership development through character, scholarship, culture and service. The Council strives to ensure the immediate needs and the long-term sustainability of the institution in order to support student academic, professional and personal success.
Mr. Browning has been a Trustee of Mansfield University since October 2007. He received his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mansfield University in 1975. Mr. Cashman completed his B.A. in General Studies from Mansfield University in 1975. Mr. Steven M. Crawford, a 1981 Mansfield graduate, is Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell’s chief of staff. Prior to being named to his current position on May 2009, he had been the Governor's secretary of Legislative Affairs since the beginning of Rendell’s first term in 2003. Mr. Crawford came to the Governor's Office from the House of Representatives where he served on the executive staff since 1991. He was the executive director of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, leadership executive director to the Majority Caucus Chairman, and senior advisor to the Democratic Caucus.
Mr. Crawford previously served as deputy secretary of Agriculture under Governor Robert P. Casey. He began his career in legislative relations as a director of government relations for the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
