What software can I use to create online course materials?

This page ( Online Course Development and Delivery Software) in particular is very helpful when starting to create online content.  You can think about what type of activity you want to create and then find out what KSU-supported software can help you.  This is not to limit how you create your course materials, but to help guide you along the way.

What resources are available specific to Stark Campus only?

Blackboard Learn is the Learning Management System for Kent State University.  It is used to host course materials, online testing, and online activities.

• Respondus

Respondus is a test creation software that integrates with Blackboard Learn.

• Panopto
  

  Panopto is a multimedia capture software licensed for Stark Campus faculty and staff.

• KSU Multimedia Apps (KSUTube, Multimedia Presenter, KSU Dropbox)

KSUTube is a video hosting site, similar to YouTube.  Multimedia Presenter allows you to create flash-based narrated PowerPoints and presentations suitable for online viewing.  KSU Dropbox gives you a place to store your files online for sharing and access from any computer.

• Camtasia Studio
  

Camtasia Studio allows you to record your computer screen, record audio narration, edit video, and output in different formats.  

• SMART Board and SMART Notebook
  

  SMART Boards are interactive whiteboards which are connected to classroom computers.  SMART Notebook software can be used in conjunction with the SMART Boards or on its own to create interactive educational materials for use in the classroom or online.

  Clickers are wireless response devices that students can use in the classroom to take polls and quizzes with the responses reported to the instructor.
