The Department of Radio/Television administers
Troy University Public Radio and TrojanVision
The Troy University Public Radio network consists of
WTSU 89.9 MHz with 100,000 watts serving Montgomery and Troy;
WRWA 88.7 MHz with 50,000 watts serving Dothan
WTJB 91.7 MHz with 3,000 watts serving Columbus and Phenix City
The network broadcasts news, cultural and informational programs and is affiliated with National Public Radio, Public Radio International, the Associated Press and the Alabama Broadcasters Association. Trojanvision provides a variety of video services to the Troy University System, including distance education, promotional videos, and practical experience for journalism students. TrojanVision also provides programming for many licensed facilities in Alabama. The Department of Radio/Television provides facilities, equipment, materials and staff to enhance the instructional program for broadcast majors of the Hall School of Journalism. The Department operates the Radio Reading Service for the Blind. A special radio receiver is supplied free of charge to those who are eligible. The Department also provides still and moving video production support to faculty teaching distance education courses.
