Systems Portfolio

Every four years, Kent State University’s Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) undergoes a Systems Appraisal to reaffirm its accreditation. The Systems Appraisal is an opportunity to get expert, objective, and third party feedback on the university’s strengths and opportunities for improvement. Kent State University’s first Systems Appraisal took place during the 2005 academic year.

AQIP Systems Portfolio Committee

Initiated in April 2012, the current Systems Portfolio Committee oversees the creation of the Systems Portfolio, our institutional self-study, which identifies how each unit accomplishes the mission of the university within the following nine AQIP categories:

  1. Helping Students Learn
  2. Accomplishing Other Distinctive Objectives
  3. Understanding Students' and Other Stakeholders' Needs
  4. Valuing People
  5. Leading and Communicating
  6. Supporting Institutional Operations
  7. Measuring Effectiveness
  8. Planning Continuous Improvement
  9. Building Collaborative Relationships
