Applying to the Program

We welcome applicants from different backgrounds. Our typical students have at least a 3.0 undergraduate GPA, but we also recognize work experience in demonstrating a candidate’s readiness for graduate coursework.

Application Requirements

Admission to the graduate and certificate programs requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Application Process

To be considered for admission to the master’s degree or graduate certificate programs, please provide:

  • A completed application form.
  • A written statement of purpose and career goals
  • A resume listing position responsibilities
  • Three letters of recommendation submitted online
  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended***

***International students must submit their official transcripts to World Education Services for credentialing. Once you have received the verification of your degree and transcript from WES, it can be forwarded to the address above. (See www.wes.org  for information about this process.)

        International students must also submit official scores of the TOEFL examination.

        Please note that the GRE is not required for admission to the master’s degree programs in health informatics.

        APPLICATION DEADLINES:
        Admission to the Masters or Certificate program for the Fall 2012- August 1st, 2012

        Admission to the Masters or Certificate program for the Spring 2012- December 15th, 2011

        Special Student Applicants to Health Informatics program must submit the following materials:

        • An official transcript showing your BS/BA degree or MS degree.
        • Your completed Special Student Application (on which you will list the course/s you want to take). Click here for the special student application.
        • $50 application fee

        Tuition

        In special recognition of the need to educate people who will join the growing field of health informatics and play a part in the transformation of our healthcare system, the Trustees of Northeastern University have approved a special tuition rate for the health informatics program of $1,010 per credit, or $3,030 per three-credit course.
