Professor Noubir’s research focuses on wireless systems. His interests lie in the theory, design, and prototyping of scalable, robust, and secure heterogeneous wireless communication systems. Most of his research centers around the design of cross-layer cooperative communication mechanisms and resiliency to adversarial attacks.

Prior to joining Northeastern University, he was a senior research scientist at CSEM SA (Switzerland), where he led several research projects and contributed to the definition of the third generation Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) standardized as 3GPP WCDMA. He also worked on the optimization of Internet protocols for satellite links. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, and has been supported by DARPA, Draper Laboratory, and Microsoft Research. Professor Noubir held visiting research positions at Eurecom, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
