Professor Viola received his PhD in 2006 from Harvard University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study (2006-2007) and at Columbia University (2007-2008). Emanuele's main research interests lie in theoretical computer science, in particular computational complexity and pseudo-randomness. Professor Viola also maintains an interest for problems at the intersection of computer science and economics.
