Parameters for article:

Clarion University opened the 2009 Fall semester on Aug. 31 at 8 a.m. The semester will continue through commencement on Dec. 19. Vacation dates are: Sept. 7, Labor Day; mid-semester break, Oct. 2; and Thanksgiving, Nov. 25-29.
Students register for day and evening classes on Aug. 31 with final exams, Dec. 14-18.
The Annual Autumn Leaf Festival is Sept. 28-Oct. 3. The parade begins at noon on Oct. 3 and the homecoming football game vs. Gannon is at 2 p.m.

Women – Soccer will open Aug. 27 at Seton Hill at 4 p.m., with the home opener Aug. 29 vs. Pitt-Johnstown at Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m. Volleyball opens with the Clarion Invitational, Aug. 28 vs. Old Dominican at 4 p.m. and Aug. 29 vs. Tiffan at noon and vs. Point Park at 4 p.m. Cross country gets underway Sept. 5 at the California Invitational. Golf opens Sept. 12-13 at Baldwin Wallace Invitational. Tennis opens Sept. 15 vs. Westminster on the Campbell Hall Courts at 4 p.m. Swimming and diving hosts the Clarion Classic, Oct. 23 at 5 p.m., Oct. 24 at 8:30 a.m., and a diving invitational, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. Basketball hosts the Clarion Classic, playing Alderson-Broaddus, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. and Bowie State, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.
Men – Football opens Aug. 27 at Fairmont State with the first home game vs. Kutztown on Sept. 5 at Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. Golf opens the season Sept. 6-7 at the Davis & Elkins Invitational and hosts the Hal Hansen Invitational at Clarion Oaks on Sept. 13-14. Swimming and diving hosts the Clarion Classic, Oct. 23 at 5 p.m., Oct. 24 at 8:30 a.m., and a diving invitational, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. Basketball will play an exhibition game at Kentucky on Nov. 6 and opens at home on Nov. 17 with Penn State – New Kensington at 7 p.m. Wrestling hosts the Clarion Open all day on Nov. 7 to open its season.
