- This site has an extensive list of legal and other resources. The legal section provides links to Bar Associations, U.S. Government legal sites, State sites, Lawyers, Federal and State Forms.
- FindLaw: Internet Legal Resources
- Along with Hieros Gamos this is one of the best legal sites available. FindLaw is well organized and is easier to navigate than Hieros Gamos. Its sections include: Legal Subject Index, Laws: Cases and Codes, Law Schools, U.S. Federal Government Resources, State Law Resources, Professional Education, Foreign & International Resources, News and Reference Material, Legal Practice Information & Materials.. The lists of state resources are particularly useful.
- Hieros Gamos "The Comprehensive Legal Site"
- This site lives up to its claim. Its links to legal information on the Internet are extremely comprehensive. Hieros Gamos contains sections about Governments, Law Journals, Law Library, Law Firms, Law Associations and more. For State and Federal information and case law, try the Government Law section. For journals, reference material and current legal news, check the Law Library. Students considering law school should browse the reviews and resources on the Students' Page.
- Internet Legal Resource Guide (ILRG)
- The Internet Legal Resource Guide is another well organized site. In addition to its lists of Internet resources it contains LawRunner a search site which uses AltaVista™ Software to search a comprehensive list of legal sites and LawRunner American State Index which provides indices of state legal sites and searches which can limited to particular states.
- Legal Information Institute, Cornell Law School
- The Legal Information Institute maintains an excellent site with a large collection of links to free legal resources on the web.
- World Wide Web Virtual Library - Law
- This site provides links to Law Schools & Libraries, Law Firms, United States Government Sites, State Government Sites, Law Journals on the WWW, Organizations, Foundations, Publishers and Vendors, Legal Information by Topic and a list of other Internet Legal Indices.
- Yahoo! Top:Government:Law
- This site contains a variety of resources organized by general topic area. The extensive list of Legal Indices on the Internet is particularly useful.
United States Federal Law
- THOMAS: Legislative Information on the Internet
- Thomas which is maintained by the Library of Congress provides information about Congress, current legislative activities, and the results of legislative activity since the the 93d Congress (1973/1974). The link to Judicial Resources contains links to Federal Statutes, Regulations, Judicial Opinions, Court Rules, Comptroller General Decisions, Law Journals and Law-Related Internet Sites.
- FedLaw
- FedLaw contains a large number of links to resources for Federal Legal Research. The links to many duplicate sites for laws, regulations and other resources are particularly useful.
Federal Laws and Statutes
- United States Code (Cornell)
- The General and Permanent Laws of the United States as of 16 January 1996. This site maintained by the Legal Information Institute of the Cornell Law School allows researchers to search or browse individual titles of the code. It provides a variety of search mechanisms.
- United States Code (GPO Access)
- U.S. Code as of 16 January 1996 via GPO Access. This site provides a different search engine. The Search Tips section provides sample searches by citation, Public Law number, phrase and other techniques.
- Public Laws and Private Laws (GPO Access)
- The Public and Private Laws database is published by the Office of the Federal Register (OFR), National Archives and Records Administration.
- Popular Name Table (Cornell)
- The Popular Name table is an alphabetical listing of the popular names assigned to legislative acts. This site created by the Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School is based on a CD-ROM produced by the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the House of Representatives.

- Federal Register Online (GPO Access)
- The Federal Register is the official daily publication for Rules, Proposed Rules, and Notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as Executive Orders and other Presidential Documents. The Federal Register Online is sponsored by the Office of the Federal Register, National Archives and Records Administration. The database is updated daily and contains the Federal Register from 1994 to present.
- Code of Federal Regulations (GPO Access)
- The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a codification of the general and permanent rules published by the Executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government.

- U.S. Federal Judiciary
- Provides information about the structure and function of the federal judicial branch.
- U.S. Supreme Court Opinions (FindLaw)
- FindLaw's searchable database of the Supreme Court decisions since 1893 (U.S. Supreme Court Decisions: US Reports 150-, 1893-). Browseable by year (1893 to current) and US Reports volume number (150 to current) and searchable by citation, case title and full text. Search results may contain cases prior to 1893.
