Computer Science Information Night
Computer Information Science Night
Curious where the jobs are at and where the Computer Science industry is going? Then plan on attending the Computer Science Information Night on Nov. 2, 2011 and March 12, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. inside Cowley College’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.
Natural Science Department instructor, David Hays, who was a NISOD Master Teacher of the Year in 2010, will go over the different career paths available in the field, such as Computer Programmer, Database Administrator, Network Engineer, and what the job entails.
Hays will also discuss the different degrees that Cowley College offers and highlight what a student should look for in picking a four-year college. He will then go over the skill sets that companies are looking for, such as Java programming, HTML, and XML.
“I plan to emphasize to them to pick up these skills along the way as it will help them to be more employable,” Hays said.
Hays believes the event will benefit both current and prospective students as informational sessions will consist of Computer Information Science, Computer Science, Computer Animation, Game Development, Web Design degrees, Career Pathways, and Job Opportunities.
