Bridge Design Contest
February 1st through April 15, 2012
The contest will run from February 1st through April 15, 2012.
The bridge design software can be downloaded for free from the West Point Academy Web page using the following link: West Point Bridge Design . (You can practice designing bridges today!)
Students are asked to design a "load bearing bridge at minimal cost".
This local contest is for current Cowley College students only. All participants will be required to submit designs of one (1) particular type the configuration of this design will be announced prior to February 1st. Prospective participants are encouraged to download the free software in order to familiarize themselves with the features (i.e. practice designing bridges).
The Cowley College students submitting the lowest cost load baring designs (the truck has to make it across the bridge) during the duration of the contest will be eligible for a "myriad" of "cool" prizes as well as (and maybe more important) Bragging Rights.

1. Log on to http://bridgecontest.usma.edu/login.htm in order to register.
2. Assign your team name (name of your fictitious design company i.e. "Bridge Design USA.") and your password (needed to upload new designs).
3. Register in the "Open Competition"; anyone in the world can enter this competition.
4. When asked if you are participating in a "Local Contest", enter your local contest code (you can get this code through Campus Connect).
5. You can view the scoreboard at the following web page: "http://bridgecontest.usma.edu/standings/local/ourcode.htm"

6. Design and have fun!!
7. All participants of the Local Cowley College Bridge Design Contest will have to use the same Bridge Configuration.
