Woodard named president of the IAOM Woodard
Joe Woodard, general manager for Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) in Arkansas City, KS, became the 107th president of the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) at the Association’s 115th annual conference and expo on May 5 in San Antonio, Texas. Woodard graduated from Cowley College in 1995. read more

Tiger fans from around the country flocked to Arkansas City on Saturday, Nov. 19 for the ribbon cutting/opening of the multi-million dollar Travis Hafner Training Center. Former Tiger great and current Cleveland Indian major leaguer, Travis Hafner, spoke at the ribbon cutting and stuck around to sign autographs prior to the Tiger basketball games. read more

Having finished as the national runner-up in 2005 and 2009, the Cowley College volleyball team left no doubt as to who the best team in the nation was in 2011 as they defeated Oakland (MI) Community College 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-21 in the title match of the NJCAA Division II National Volleyball Tournament played Saturday, Nov. 19 in Toledo, OH. read more

Raising funds for critical building repairs, while extending a generous tax credit, Cowley College recently received a significant contribution to the school’s Deferred Maintenance Tax Credit Program as Bill Docking, CEO and Board Chairman of Union State Bank, and his wife, Judy, recently contributed $5,000 to the program. read more

Students, donors pack Wright Room for Endowment Scholarship Reception

More than 200 individuals filled Cowley College’s Earle N.Wright Community Room Tuesday, August 23 for the school’s first Endowment Scholarship Reception in which students receiving endowed scholarships were brought together with the individuals who donated money to fund the scholarships. Cowley College’s Endowment Association awarded 182 scholarships worth over $113,000 to students for the 2011- 2012 academic year. read more

Following the purchase of an Angus steer from Brooke Jackson of Arkansas City during the Cowley County Fair 4-H Market Livestock Auction held at the Winfield Fairgrounds on Aug. 1, Cowley College donated 933 pounds of beef to Manna Ministries in Arkansas City. read more
