Cowley College Anthropology program looking for new friends

The Anthropology program at Cowley College recently launched a Facebook page to communicate with Cowley College students and community members. The page features regular updates on all facets of the program, including classes, student activities, special events and other items of anthropological interest. The Facebook page can be found by searching Facebook for Cowley College Anthropology, or by this direct link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cowley-College-Anthropology

All students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to give the program page a Like, and keep up to date with anthropology at the college.

Anthropology is a multidisciplinary, scientific study of the human condition. Through the traditional four fields of cultural anthropology, archaeology, biological/physical anthropology and linguistics, anthropologists examine every aspect of humanity in a holistic, comparative and evolutionary way. Cowley College’s Associate of Arts degree in anthropology provides students with a strong foundation in this traditional four-field approach, providing unique opportunities to community college students in this region.

Each anthropology course at Cowley College incorporates a basic fieldwork component, such as ethnographic interviews, archaeological surveys and digs, and primate behavior studies at area zoos. More information can be found through the new Facebook page, or by contacting Chris Mayer at 620-441-5229.
