Adult Education and College Preparation Program receives $20,000 grant

Cowley College’s Adult Education and College Preparation Program recently received a $20,000 grant from the Preparation for Advanced Career Employment System (PACES) and the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas.

Devin Graves, Director of Adult Education at Cowley, said the grant will have a significant impact on how his department delivers instruction online to adult education students.

The grant project was designed specifically to increase the capacity of the Adult Education and College Preparation Program to assist students with the concurrent enrollment in and completion of both the academic credential and career pathway opportunities. The program will utilize the funds to develop an online curriculum, professional development model, and the purchase of a lecture capture system which will greatly enhance the ability of the program to deliver online courseware for students. This is the second grant the program has received from PACES and the Workforce Alliance.
