Pair of Cowley employees named first recipients of Ben LeClair Staff Excellence Award

Ben LeClair Staff Excellence Award
Exhibiting excellence in the four core values of Cowley College, Clinton Marlow and Todd Ray were named the first recipients of the Ben LeClair Staff Excellence Award during the school’s all-college meeting held Thursday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

Benny Joe “Ben” LeClair, long time employee of Cowley College, died February 7, 2011 in Winfield. He was a highly respected, long-time employee of Cowley College.

LeClair was a valuable staff member who was dedicated to the continual pursuit of excellence by embracing the four Core Values of Cowley College: People, Accountability, Integrity and Leadership.  He performed his daily duties with integrity and a smile and lead by example.

He was a leader in his church and an excellent provider for his family. LeClair is remembered for his great laugh, his loyalty to Cowley, and his commitment to a job well done.

To honor and remember LeClair’s legacy, the college accepted nominations for the Ben LeClair Staff Excellence Award for Cowley College.

Both Marlow and Ray had the same number of nominations as they were recognized as model employees who remain true to the Ben LeClair model of excellence.

Marlow, director of computer services, and Ray, maintenance supervisor, are both well liked and respected employees on Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City.

Marlow has worked at Cowley since October 2003, while Ray has been employed at the school since March 1998.
