Adjunct instructors prove valuable to Cowley College

Adjunct instructors
Playing a vital role in Cowley College’s ability to continually increase enrollment, the school will have 190 adjunct instructors during the 2011-2012 school year.

Several of the adjunct instructors took part in an in-service at Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City on Tuesday. The in-service consisted of breakout sessions as well as department/discipline specific sessions.

The adjunct instructors teach all disciplines and have varying workloads. Some will teach in the traditional classroom setting, while others will conduct online or hybrid courses.

Slade Griffiths, vice president of academic affairs, has high praise for the adjunct faculty at Cowley College.

“Our adjunct instructors are incredibly gifted teachers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom,” Griffiths said. “It is great to hire members from our community who help the students learn.”
