Broadway actress returns to speak at Cowley
Musical Theatre Master Class
Sharing her knowledge of musical theatre, Broadway actress Heather Jones was a special guest in Cowley College’s Musical Theatre Master Class on Friday.
For the second year in a row, Jones, who made her Broadway debut in “Avenue Q” and had a part in last year’s musical, “Writing Arthur”, listened to and critiqued several student solos during the hour and a half long class. Jones provided the students will valuable insight and praised the work done by the performers.
Jones has had regional turns in Grease, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Miss Saigon, Gypsy, Man of La Mancha, Oklahoma!, The Rocky Horror Show, Swingtime Canteen, Cavalleria Rusticana, and The Merry Widow.
As a soloist, she has performed in concert with artists such as country singer Toby Keith. Television credits include "All My Children" and "Law & Order."
Jones was born and raised in Stillwater, OK and attended Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma. She is the cousin of Cowley College applied voice instructor, Lindsay Ramirez.
Vocal music director, Connie Donatelli, accompanied the student performances on piano.
