Community members benefit from clothing drive held at Cowley College
Clothing Drive
Cowley College Education majors would like to extend their gratitude to those who contributed to the success of the clothing drive and exchange held Saturday, November 12 at the school’s main campus in Arkansas City.
With the event not slated to begin until 10 a.m., families began to line up outside the Brown Center doors at 8:15 a.m. A couple hundred people sorted through contributions which included over 6,800 articles of clothing and accessories, 229 pairs of shoes, and 190 coats and jackets. The small number of adult items left will be delivered to local organizations who support the community throughout the year.
Education majors were overwhelmed with the number of families attending the event and believed the efforts should continue next fall.
