Supporters of Cowley College athletics attend Tiger Booster Club luncheon
Tiger Booster club luncheon
With exciting things happening amongst Cowley College sports teams, fans of the school’s 15 athletic programs attended the Tiger Booster Club luncheon held Tuesday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.
Coaches of each of the programs spoke to the room full of Boosters, while awards were presented to the school’s September and October Male and Female Student Athlete of the Months. Emily Barto, a member of the No. 1-ranked Cowley College volleyball team and the preseason conference favorite Lady Tiger basketball team, was named the September Female Student Athlete of the Month. Gavin Brown, a sophomore member of the Tiger men’s basketball team, which finished second in the conference during the 2011-2012 season, was named the September Male Student Athlete of the Month.
Breanna Bryant, a sophomore member of the Lady Tiger basketball team, was named the October Female Student Athlete of the Month, and Zack Evenden, a sophomore All-American member of the Tiger tennis team was named the October Male Student Athlete of the Month.
Tiger fans were reminded to come support the No. 19-ranked men’s soccer team when they host Kansas City in the first-round of the Region VI playoffs tonight at 6 p.m. and then head to W.S. Scott Auditorium on Wednesday to cheer on the No. 1-ranked Lady Tiger volleyball team as they take on No. 17-ranked Johnson County at 5 p.m. in a battle for the conference title.
