Goda Jankauskaite
Jankauskaite named KJCCC/Verizon Wireless Player of the Week for second time
Making her presence felt, Goda Jankauskaite, a sophomore transfer from Missouri West Plains, was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/Verizon Wireless Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Jankauskaite’s solid play has helped the Lady Tigers hold their No. 1 national ranking throughout the season. The 6’2” middle hitter started the Lady Tiger’s week off strong with a total of 18 kills and only one error in a win against Independence. She followed up that performance with 45 kills and 11 aces as Cowley picked up wins against three ranked teams at the Central Nebraska Tournament. The Lady Tigers went 4-0 at the tourney as Jankauskaite had a hitting efficiency no less than .400 in all four matches.
Cowley, winners of nine matches in a row, is 25-2 overall and 6-0 in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division.
