Manufacturing Skills Certification

Cowley College prepares the workforce of the future ….

Many manufacturers find it beneficial for their employees to have the skills in the areas of Blueprint Reading, Precision Measurement and Quality Control, Occupational Safety and Health, and Employability Skills.

Cowley College is pleased to offer this training through a Manufacturing Skills Certificate (MSC) training program with a certified MSC instructor.  The mission of Cowley College is to provide learning excellence and personal enrichment in an open access environment.  Classes are offered on the Arkansas City campus or at your place of employment for your convenience.

Students completing the MSC training program earn eight college credit hours.  The curriculum has been developed in collaboration with business and industry representatives within the manufacturing sector.  The coursework relates to industrial mechanical maintenance, as well as technology in the areas of electronic engineering, machines, and welding.  Students who complete the coursework have the opportunity to earn a Kansas Works/Ready Certificate.

Businesses also would be able to apply for a State Energy Sector Partnership and Training Grant (SESPT) through Kansas Works to fund the MSC training expenses.  This grant allows the company to focus on industry needs and move underemployed workers to higher levels of proficiency.  More information on the grant can be found at the following Web site:  www.kansascommerce.com/SESPT.  The grant process is simple and easy to complete so do not hesitate to pursue this funding option.

The college is committed to providing working partnerships for every business and industry we serve.  Cowley College looks forward to working with you in the near future.
