Greetings!

Welcome to the City University of New York’s Financial Literacy website! As we approach financial literacy month in April, I think we should all be very excited about the innovative resources this forum provides for CUNY students and the entire CUNY community.

Financial literacy is a basic language that allows you to prepare for your future. Whether you are an incoming freshman or an outgoing senior, it is never too late or too early to place yourself on the road to financial security. Since most college students are faced with a series of financial decisions that will impact the rest of their lives, it is imperative we survey all of our financial options and recognize the ramifications of our actions. We have to be proactive in planning and managing our funds.

We invite you to take advantage of all this site has to offer. Some students may find the financial aid information most helpful, while others may gravitate towards the services that promote financial literacy and free tax preparation. This site has something to offer for everyone.

For some of us, the benefits of financial literacy may not be readily apparent. Yet I assure you that once you graduate, begin to pursue your career, build a family and create a network of friends and associates, that is the time when the lessons of financial literacy will benefit you the most. So I encourage you to get ahead of the curb and start now!
