Physical Therapist Assistant Technology
The Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant Technology gives you the skills to help people recover from illness and injury. As a physical therapist assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to implement treatment programs according to each patient's individualized plan of care.
An associate degree is earned with successful completion of 66 semester hours of coursework. Graduates of the PTA Program are eligible to apply for licensure and take the Licensure Exam for physical therapist assistants. Admission to the program is limited and selective. It is important that students considering a career as a physical therapist assistant meet with the program advisor to discuss program expectations and admission requirements.
Physical Therapist Assistant Technology degree at Kent State University is a two year/four semester degree program that is offered on both the East Liverpool and Ashtabula campuses. There are a limited number of seats that are offered annually to the most qualified applicants. Students who want to be considered for a seat to begin PTST course work at East Liverpool must meet the minimum qualification and submit all application materials by May 1st . Students who are selected for admission to the PTST Program at East Liverpool begin classes in the Fall Semester.
