The Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, located on our Jupiter campus, is perfect for students who want the distinction of taking every course in their college programs at the honors level. In order to be considered for either the University Honors program or the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, you must first be accepted for admission to Florida Atlantic University. So, be sure to complete our convenient online application at /admissions/Apply_Online.php.
Upon your admission to the University, you can apply to one or both of our honors choices. Most of the students who are accepted into these honors programs will have SAT scores of 1800 or higher on all 3 parts (26 or higher on the ACT) and a high school grade point average of at least 3.3, but exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Students who meet certain admissions criteria will be invited to join either the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College or the University Honors Program. These students are not required to complete a supplemental application for admission to one of these programs.
So, if you feel that you have a strong academic record and are up to the challenge, apply to become an FAU honors student in the University Honors Program, the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, or both. These are both excellent opportunities, and one of them may be just perfect for you!
Upper-Division Honors Programs
We also offer honors programs within the majors for upper-division students.
• The College of Business: Accounting Scholars Program – Students
complete the BBA and Master of Accounting while also completing
the requirements of the Florida Board of Accountancy to sit for the

Innovation Leadership Scholars Program – Students gain invaluable practical

• The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters – The college
has programs in several majors: communications, history, music and
languages, linguistics and comparative literature. Additional details

• The Charles E. Schmidt College of Science – The college has honors
programs in mathematics, biology, physics and psychology. The
