Admissions Requirements
Transfer applicants should be aware that additional requirements are necessary for some colleges and majors. The minimum University requirements are listed below. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission.
Transfer credit is awarded to admitted students who submit official transcripts from regionally accredited institutions.
Less than 60 credit hours- Applicants should present a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (4.0=A) on all attempted college work.
- Applicants must be in good academic standing at their last attended institution.

- Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission. Applicants who are not selected for their chosen term of entry may appeal the admissions decision through the Faculty Committee on Student Admission process.
- Applicants should present a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on all attempted college work.
- Applicants must be in good academic standing at their last attended institution.
- Beginning Fall 1991, all transfer applicants must have completed eight to ten credit hours of sequential foreign language or its equivalent in quarter hours prior to enrollment at Florida Atlantic University.*
- Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission. Applicants who are not selected for their chosen term of entry may appeal the admissions decision through the Faculty Committee on Student Admission process.
- Students awarded an Associate of Arts degree from any Florida public community college are admissible to Florida Atlantic University.
- As stated above, admission to the School of Architecture, Honors College and Nursing is limited access. All applicants must meet the specific course and grade point average requirements for direct admission to those colleges.
- College of Business, Engineering & Computer Science, and Music majors are selective and have additional requirements.
The University may award up to 10 credits of Military Service School credits toward admission, as evaluated and recommended in the American Council on Education publication, Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services. Acceptability of such credit will be determined by the individual college. Alternatively, up to 8 credits of the maximum 10 may be granted for ROTC credit. Credit earned for ROTC courses will be acceptable for advance standing or degree credit and such credit will be considered free electives.
To apply for such credit, military veterans or active duty service members should submit one of the following forms of documentation, and evidence of appropriate test scores on the DSST Examination Program (formerly DANTES Subject Standardized Tests) in college and technical subjects. College of BusinessIf you have satisfied this criteria, you must submit an Application to Upper-Division to the College of Business to declare one of the selective admissions majors. Click here to view the online application.
Please note: The Economics (ECON) major, a social science program, is excluded from the above requirements.
Admission to Florida Atlantic University does not guarantee admission to the College of Engineering and Computer Science, therefore your status is as a preliminary engineering major (pre-engineering).
