"How do you know that you are giving the right guidance to your child as they go through the exhaustive process of choosing their new home away from home? I don't think any parent can ever be sure that they have done everything possible to support their child in this first great decision of their life. more...

I have worked in the field of College Student Affairs for over 35 years, since my first days as a RA in my residence hall and probably have been on over 300-400 campuses in my career – I think I know colleges. However finding the right fit for my daughter Danelle was tricky, as the choice had to truly be hers. There was something that just felt right for my daughter at FAU – right size, right people, right values, just the RIGHT place. FAU has proven to be big enough to provide the breath of personal and college experiences; while being small enough to make Danelle feel a true part of a college community. The staff continues to work hard to make our student's four year experience one that will last a lifetime; not only in knowledge gained in the classroom, but in the personal development that comes during these final years before independent adulthood. As the President of the Owl Parent Association – I'm happy that my daughter chose FAU and I'm proud to be a part of the Owl Family. GO OWLS!!"

"My daughter heard that FAU had a great education program. My daughter absolutely loves it. My daughter has been inspired so much by her academic advisors that she is now going to stay and get her Masters in exceptional education with a focus in speech pathology. more...

Why do I love the school? I was impressed during orientation; that FAU had its own student retention department. I am quite impressed by the teacher assistant services that help students prepare for exams. She got an A in psychology because of the extra help and study hours offered. I am also very impressed with the Owl Parent Association; it is exceptional."

"I like that FAU is a smaller school. I feel that my daughter is in a safe environment. There is also a lot of supplemental help; she has access to tutors which helps her make good grades. Overall, her experience has been wonderful and I am extremely pleased with FAU and everything she is learning for her future."

"As a Guidance Counselor at PBGHS and a parent of a graduating senior, I knew all the ins and outs of applying to schools and guided our son through the application process. But I stopped there, as the decision making had to be on his own.  He applied to 7 schools and was accepted to all (5 state and 2 out of state). He began to narrow his choices through school tours and an Excel chart he came up with. more...

FAU Honors College was first on our list and we traveled up the state, saw them all and the two out of state as well. He held FAU Honors College as his Gold Standard and compared all of them to it.  They all offered excellent academics but it was the small setting, the highly credentialed faculty, the caring attitude of everyone he met at FAU Honors College, the academic focus while still providing all the fun sports, clubs and amenities of a larger campus, the location in Jupiter with all the city has to offer, like-minded students focused but fun with similar attitudes towards their purpose and the new facilities with great dorms (quads) and an excellent dining hall that made his decision.  He chose FAU Honors College for all it has to offer and we are thrilled that he selected  a well established highly respected state school and know they are providing exactly what he needs for the next step – his postgraduate studies! At the end of his first semester at FAU Honors College, he earned straight A's and is highly motivated by his professors to continue. As a completely satisfied proud parent, I say, What more could you ask for in a school?"
